Parental Notice Action

25 Jun Parental Notice Action

Friends, I’ve seen several underage girls go into the abortion clinic in Champaign. One particular girl came from Indiana because there she would have to get her parent’s consent for an abortion. She came here to hide the pregnancy from her parents. This is clearly dangerous for the baby but also dangerous for the girl to go through a major medical procedure without her parents knowing. Who would help her if there were complications?

I found the following on the Illinois Federation for Right to Life website, please take action:

HB 317 The Non-Parental Notification Bill
Rep. Robert S. Molaro has filed for a motion to reconsider.

Once again, we need to defeat this bill, and to do that, we need calls again to your Representatives to urge them to vote NO again on HB 317.

This bill “guts” our Parental Notice Law which is about to go into effect.

Call your Representative and urge them to vote “NO” on the Motion to Reconsider and “NO” on HB 317.

The Illinois House turned back an attempt by Planned Parenthood and the rest of the abortion lobby to “gut” our Parental Notice Law which is about to go into effect, they got 55 votes…five short of passage. The Illinois Federation for Right to Life in conjunction with Family PAC, and Illinois Citizens for life made over 33,000 calls in eleven Districts where House members claimed to be undecided. More than 600 calls were made directly to these legislators urging a no vote. It is very clear that the calls made a great difference on a number of these people who are situated in marginal Districts. The bill would have replaced notice to parents with a “counseling” provision which would have allowed medical “professionals” associated with abortion clinics to receive notice instead of the parents. Call your Representative and urge them to vote “NO” on the Motion to Reconsider and “NO” on HB 317.
