"I am no longer afraid"

This is the final post in a series of student testimonies following SFLI participation in the marches in Chicago and Washington, D.C. Today’s story comes from Jazmine, a junior at University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign, who travelled with SFLI to D.C."A person is a person no matter how small." - Dr. SeussThis is the mentality that I came in with when I said yes to an invitation to attend the March for Life in Washington D.C. I never imagined myself having the opportunity to meet so many of my peers who also want to stand up for all unborn. It was a wonderful experience to bond with so many people in such a short amount of time. This happened thanks to our desire to march for life.Although the weather did not permit us to march in Washington, we still had the blessing to march in Dayton, OH on the way back. We extended our yellow umbrellas, offering love, joy, and hope to women and children at risk for abortion. The trip truly was one for the books, and I am excited to go next year and march in D.C. with my peers!After attending the march, I have become more motivated to spread awareness about abortion to the student body. My perspective and confidence truly changed in such a positive way that I am no longer afraid to be able to initiate a conversation with someone who might not be Pro-Life.Attending the SFLI Summit in Washington has given me the information necessary to defend what I truly believe as young lady who is Pro-Life.I can now say that I am Pro-Life because I do not want to see these mothers suffer after choosing abortion. Unfortunately, women today do not receive enough information, support, or guidance to truly think through what they are considering.As the Pro-Life generation, we are here to offer a lending hand not only to the women who are considering abortion, but also for the mothers who have already chosen to listen to others who told them they could not raise their child right or who told them that they could not afford to have a child at that time. We are here for those who didn't want to be a single mother, or did not have support from their spouse or parents.These women also need our prayers and love, because they are the ones who will never see their baby grow up. I am Pro-life for the women and men who have lost their child, and will do my best to bring awareness that they are not alone, and that we are all here to help them.We are the Pro-Life generation!Thank you, Jazmine, and all the other students who shared their stories!
