Plan for Next Year Now
Everyone knows that in order to have an impact on your campus you must do a significant amount of planning. Well, guess what... Now is the time to start planning for next year!Maybe you're the president of your campus pro-life group...Maybe you don't have a pro-life group but you know your campus needs one... Maybe you've never been involved in pro-life activities but you want to start. Well, for all of these scenarios, you should start now!
How Do I Plan Ahead for Next Year?
I'm in Leadership...
Whether you're the president, VP, Treasurer or in any other leadership position, it is very important that you begin a leadership transition for next year right now. I recommend that you have an application process and personally invite people to apply for the specific positions. If you want your group to continue to grow, it is imperative that you cultivate leaders early. I've seen many pro-life groups drop off the face of the earth because the leaders did not replace themselves. Don't let your hard work go to waste! (Maybe none of your leaders are graduating but, that does not take away the necessity to cultivate new leaders)Re-center on your mission and convey this mission to those who will take over your group. Why does this group exist? You are saving lives on your campus, this is very important to always remember! Once you've re-centered, translate that into action by setting out goals and events for next year. Have your calendar pre-planned and know when the dates are for to get your group school funding, a table at the activities fair, etc. (Put October 24th on your Calendar for the SFLI Leadership Summit!)**Be sure to contact SFLI with the results of your planning! We want to keep your new leaders in the loop, we want to help advertise for your events and we want you to take advantage of all that we have to offer!***Don't forget to join the SFLI email list by clicking "Join Now" at the top left of this page.
I'm Just Part of the Group...
Sometimes leaders need a little encouragement. If you don't see your leaders doing what I've recommended above, you can bring up these points and push them to put out applications for leadership positions for next year, etc.If your leaders are doing these things, offer your assistance, apply for one of the positions, invite others to apply and take an active role in planning the events that will impact your campus.*Don't forget to join the SFLI email list by clicking "Join Now" at the top left of this page.
