The guidelines for the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women have recently been modified to remove the phrase "sexual and reproductive health and rights," as this has been defined as including abortion on demand as a "right."Pro-life lobbyists waited hours upon hours, keeping vigil outside the negotiation chambers, and peacefully representing the mothers and unborn children that will be impacted by the work and activism brought about through this U.N. committee.It appears Norway was one of the countries to initially propose the inclusion of the phrase, joined by other countries from the EU, Latin America, and the Caribbean.The opposition to the abortion reference within the document was fronted by Poland, Ireland, Malta, the United States, El Salvador, Syria, Iran, Pakistan, Kiribati, and the Holy See.Full Article Here.
