Keep Scrolling to Read Nick’s Testimony!
“The saddest part of this story is his girlfriend had just received an abortion…”
“Thank you for encouraging me to join, now I’m helping my friend who might be pregnant.”
WeDignify students and missionaries hear these stories every day. Students who are pregnant and need help, students who have had abortions, or helped friends get abortions.
Last year, weDignify moved over 350 students to pro-life action through our Small Groups. These students receive expert training to defend life and help their peers.
Because of the generosity of our donors, this fall weDignify expanded to a new campus: Illinois State University! Two full-time pro-life missionaries, Savannah and Antonio, worked hard to recruit students into weDignify’s programs.
That’s how Savannah met Nick. And in just 3 weeks…
1 Student, 5 Hearts Changed for Life
“At our weDignify meeting, we went over the processes of abortions. During this lesson, we watched the video that, although animated, felt all too real and fired me up.”
Nick was challenged by Savannah to share what he learned... He didn’t wait long.
“When I got back to my dorm room, I filled my roommate in on what I had just watched.”
But Nick wasn’t done sharing! He called another friend, “Rob,” to share with him about faith, and what he had learned in weDignify. “When I started to tell Rob about the abortion procedures, my roommate asked if my friend and I could chat outside since he did not want to hear about those terrible things again.”
“That’s what I would say was the first holy spirit moment of the night, because we found a table, and nearby was a group of 5 men and 3 women. I told them that I was going to be talking about abortion, but I invited them to stay and listen. Not one of them got up from the table.
I was describing to this group everything I had learned about abortion, and why I know it is morally wrong.
It took almost an hour. I didn't receive any response at first but after about 5 minutes one of the girls spoke. She was on birth control and engaging in hook-up culture, but now she was rethinking her choices.”
But she wasn’t the only student Nick helped see the truth.
“John” approached Nick to share that his girlfriend had just received an abortion. “Until our conversation, he said he was very happy about it and was glad he didn't have to ‘deal with it’.” John came up to me after crying and saying thank you. ‘You have opened up my eyes and I'm going to talk to my girlfriend.’ All 5 of the men hugged me and thanked me.
All of them had changed their minds from being pro-choice to now being pro-life.”
In just one conversation, Nick changed 5 hearts and brought healing resources to a young couple hurt by abortion.
But the story doesn’t end that night.
“A few days later, one of the women told me her values had shifted. She no longer was going to have casual sex, and she had stopped taking birth control. Not only did Nick change their hearts for life, he changed her life.
WeDignify Small Groups inspire students like Nick to change hearts every day! But we don’t stop there...
“I’m helping my friend who might be pregnant…”
Cory is a junior at the University of Illinois, where he’s been in weDignify Small Groups. Having learned how to change hearts, he graduated to another weDignify program to learn how to save lives with life-affirming resources.
At first Cory wasn’t sure he could commit to attending weekly meetings, but Holly, one of our Pro-Life Missionaries encouraged him.
A few weeks later, Cory sought out Holly. He shared how grateful he was to be part of weDignify, because being part of the Serve program had opened his eyes. “I didn’t realize how much more I had to learn.”
And then he shared: his friend thought she was pregnant, and had turned to Cory for help. “I wouldn’t have known what to do without weDignify. Thank you for encouraging me to join Serve Team.”
Because of you, Nick, Cory, and more students are changing hearts and saving lives on college campuses every day.
