De-Fund Abortion Providers
I have received several emails about supporting the Title X Pence Amendment and about signing petitions. Both of these actions are geared toward defunding abortion providers, in general, and Planned Parenthood in particular. If you don't want your tax dollars supporting abortion you can do two things:1. Contact your reps and ask them to support the Pence Amendment (below)2. Sign this petition.____________________Planned Parenthood has received millions of your hard earned tax dollars, which in turn subsidize their abortion practice through Title X funding for federal family planning and pregnancy prevention funding. While Planned Parenthood claims that these funds are not used for abortion, obviously having this constant supply of tax dollars coming in as part of your budget makes all other areas of operation much easier to sustain.ACTION: Click >>>HERE<<< to email your U.S. Representative today and ask him/her to vote 'YES' to the "Pence Amendment" -- H.R. 4133.Politely tell your lawmaker that American taxpayers shouldn't be asked to fund Planned Parenthood -- the nation's largest abortion provider. (Be assured, your calls and emails are very important; legislators take very seriously the letters and the numbers of calls they receive.)

BackgroundU.S. Representative Mike Pence (R-IN) has filed H.R. 4133, which will prohibit any organization that practices or promotes abortion from receiving federal tax dollars. Polls have repeatedly shown that Americans oppose taxpayer-funded abortion. Pence's bill recognizes this public sentiment. It's time the American people know that the largest recipient of federal Title X funding in America is the largest abortion provider as well. It's time to pass the Pence Amendment to keep taxpayer money out of the hands of Planned Parenthood.H.R. 4133 has over two-dozen co-authors, including Illinois Congressmen Don Manzullo (R-16th Dist.) and John Shimkus (R-19th Dist.). However, there are several pro-life congressional members from Illinois not yet signed on to the bill who would support it. Please contact your own congressperson and ask him/her to support H.R. 4133 and to become a co-author of this important legislation.
