Not a Typical Friday Night
How you serve women & children
“If I can show just one person the care of the pro-life movement, then it’s all worth it,” exclaimed our student, Laura. “I love going because I can live out my pro-life beliefs.” Every Friday night, our Loyola students volunteer at a maternity home, The Well of Mercy. They babysit children of mothers who chose life in difficult situations. For over 5 years, students have volunteered there. Kevin Grillot, SFLI Executive Director, led the first group.“Many students’ eyes and hearts are opened to the value of life because of this service. We connect students directly to the humanity of mothers and children.” Kevin said.Student Clarissa shares “I enjoy seeing the love and joy in the children in playing with them.”Every SFLI group does service. Because of you, students have given thousands of hours volunteering to care for both mother and child.Eddie says “interacting with the kids reminds me to take joy in the little things, and that as long as someone is able to benefit from what I offer, then life isn't that bad.”
