SFLI Announces First Summit Speaker: David Bereit

bereitStudents for Life of Illinois is honored to announce our first speaker for this year’s summit.  David Bereit is the National Director of 40 Days for Life, a pro-life campaign that has mobilized more than 215,000 people throughout the United States and several other countries around the world. 40 Days for Life focuses on prayer, fasting, peaceful vigils, and grassroots outreach to bring an end to abortion and spread the culture of life.  Click here to register for the Summit and see David speak.David began his pro-life work in 1998 when Planned Parenthood announced plans to build an abortion clinic in his Texas town.  He helped rally 60 churches and thousands of volunteers in an effort to oppose Planned Parenthood.  Due to this overwhelming response, abortions in that area dropped by over 40%.In 2005, David moved to the D.C. area to expand his pro-life work, which has been featured in the media hundreds of times across the nation.  He has debated several top abortion advocates and abortion industry insiders.David is married to his best friend Margaret, and they reside in Fredericksburg, Virginia with their two young children, Claire (age 11) and Patrick (age 6).Students for Life of Illinois is very excited to feature David at the 2009 Annual Leadership Summit.  His outstanding work in the pro-life movement serves as witness to the incredible impact that one person can have in promoting the culture of life.
