Alumni Spotlight: John Solak!
Giving Tuesday allows us to train leaders who then go on to form more leaders.
If you read the most recent Alumni Spotlight, then you’ve met Annemarie and Chris. Now, I want to show you how their leadership impacted another student - meet John, a weDignify alumni whose involvement with weDignify began because Chris personally invited him in.
Thanks to Chris's invitation, John joined a weDignify small group!
"I enjoyed small group because a student doesn't just learn arguments for being pro-life, they learn how to encounter students who disagree with them and who are impacted by abortion. Furthermore, they learn how to dialogue with dignity, and recognize the dignity in others."
He took his small-group formation and put it into action by Daring Greatly. John shared “Daring greatly is the way in which weDignify has challenged me to grow the most, to try and put my beliefs about the inherent dignity of every human person’s life into action in a personal way. When Daring Greatly, I was so surprised to find a girl who was pro-abortion but very open to reconsidering her views. Having Annemarie there helped, and we were able to hopefully change her view on abortion!"
John still looks back with joy on that conversation, not only for the girl’s openness, but also for Annemarie’s support and the guidance he’d received through weDignify.
It’s why he now encourages current students to remember this:
“I’ve seen weDignify leaders with all kinds of personalities and stories, each interacting with others in their own way. But they all had a deep desire to protect children and to help struggling mothers. So learn from those around you, yet serve your fellow students in the unique way that you do."
John’s story shows how your generosity allows us to train leaders who then go on to form more leaders.
Our goal is to raise $3,000 this Giving Tuesday. By donating today, you can be an early investor in helping us reach our Christmas goal!
