Meet Cassie: Learn How a Pregnancy Resource Center Changed Her Life
This semester, students in a weDignify small group visited a Pregnancy Resource Center and saw how they support women and families.
I want to share a story about a young woman who's life was changed through a Pregnancy Resource Center, and how you can help lead women to the same life-affirming resources.
Cassie was newly married and thrilled to be expecting her first baby, but she felt overwhelmed and didn't know where to begin. “I first found the pregnancy resource center simply by googling I’m pregnant, need help.”
She didn’t have an OB/GYN yet, and even though she knew she was keeping her baby, the uncertainty felt heavy. “Reaching out to the center felt like the only step I knew how to take.”
From the moment she walked through the doors, the women greeted her with warmth and support. After confirming her pregnancy, “they asked if I wanted to see my baby on ultrasound. I was so excited to say yes!”
Even with a strong support system in her life, Cassie shared, “The center didn’t care about my circumstances; they cared about my health and my baby’s health. It meant everything to have a quiet, gentle space with women who simply listened and cared.”
Cassie returned to the PRC for each of her pregnancies, “One of my favorite memories is having the same ultrasound technician for each of my children, she watched my family grow.” She reflected on what a gift it was to be welcomed with the same warmth every time.
“Knowing they would support me no matter what meant the world to me.” Cassie knew that if she'd ever been in crisis, they would have supported her without hesitation. And she wants all women to know that.
“I want young women, especially college students, to know this: It’s okay to be scared. I was 20 when I had my first baby, and I had no idea what I was doing - but I wasn’t alone. God knit each of my children in my womb and led me to people who wanted to help, not judge, people who truly cared.”
Many women don’t realize Pregnancy Resource Centers exist, let alone that they offer compassionate, practical help when pregnancy feels overwhelming or uncertain. This is why it's important to share pregnancy rersouces.
If you encounter a pregnant woman who needs support, would you know how to guide her toward life-affirming resources? In a weDignify small group, you’ll learn exactly how to listen, walk with her, and connect her to the support she deserves.
