A Bold Stand for Life: weDignify Students Engage with Protestors
I want to share an inspiring moment from our recent rally at the Illinois Pro-Life March with you!
During the March, protesters stood on the sidewalk holding signs like You can’t force birth and Forced birth is tyranny, and they shouted through megaphones.
A few of our students - Cavan, Angel, Mike, and Linnea - saw this and decided to Dare Greatly.
Daring Greatly is a WeDignify initiative where students engage in respectful conversations about abortion, focusing on compassion and understanding different viewpoints.
They approached the protesters and asked them to explain their beliefs. Speaking to Linnea, one protester said, “You're a woman and are having your rights taken away.”
Linnea responded calmly, “I don't believe that abortion is a right; it’s murder.”
At this, the protesters began to disengage, saying they didn’t want to continue the conversation. They explained, “We know how pro-lifers are - you just talk in circles and try to confuse us with your arguments."
However, our students stood firm, replying, “We don’t want to argue, we just want to understand you.”
Our students listened and engaged compassionately, even in the face of disagreement.
This Daring Greatly is a perfect example of how our students are not only informed but also brave enough to stand up for their beliefs while showing respect and seeking understanding.
But we cannot train students like Angel, Mike, Linnea, and Cavan without you.
Our Spring Campaign goal is to raise $15,000.
