For those who are not travelling to Washington D.C. this weekend for the March for Life, check out these other awesome events happening around Illinois!Springfield2011 Planned Parenthood Prayer Vigil Saturday, January 22 from 9:45am - 2:15pm.The event is being co-sponsored by Springfield Right to Life and the Diocese of Springfield. We are asking people to sign up for 30- or 60-minute shifts, from 9:45am - 2:15pm. You may sign up as individuals or in groups. We will pray on the sidewalk in front of the Planned Parenthood facility at 1000 E. Reception to follow at the Howlett Building, former Hall of Flags.ChampaignThe annual Community Ecumenical Memorial Prayer Vigil will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church located at 708 West Main Street in Urbana.The theme for this year’s Vigil is“Life and Love – Unconditional Gifts,” featuring speakers Director Sally J. Williams of Urban Life Matters Pregnancy Center in Indianapolis andPastor Shannon Caughey of Twin City Bible Church in Urbana. All are welcome to attend. A reception will follow the Vigil.The purpose of the Vigil is for prayer and to memorialize all lives lost due toabortion, as well as to continue to learn about abortion and those whose lives have been affected by it.
