Political Corruption Threatens the Lives of Teenage Girls
[Update] Just received word that the moratorium on Parental Notice was lifted today despite the deck being stacked. More details here. Will the Illinois Medical Disciplinary Board continue a legacy of corruption in the "Land of Lincoln" today?Regardless of where you stand politically, some things are just plain wrong. Taxpayers have been funding a court battle in Illinois for over 15 years regarding the Parental Notice Act—a common sense law that helps protect minors seeking abortions. States across the nation have adopted such laws—always with exceptions to protect a minor in case of medical emergency—but because of political corruption the battle ensues in Illinois.Earlier this year the Federal courts ruled the Parental Notice Act valid and constitutional. Now the Medical Board (which makes recommendations on laws concerning physicians in Illinois) is trying to throw their weight around to delay enforcement of this law. This board is lead by some precariously connected persons. Among them is Brent Adams, the lead defendant in this lawsuit and also Executive Committee Member of PERSONAL PAC—Illinois’ single largest pro-abortion PAC. If you talk to some State Representatives in Springfield—they’ll tell you that when PERSONAL PAC knocks on your door, you had better beware!I don’t know about you, but this all screams conflict of interest. The mission of PERSONAL PAC is to have unfettered abortion in Illinois. That is their agenda—so how could someone like Brent Adams be objective when it comes to issues like Parental Notice? As rolls in the money, so rolls out the mission, and his donors expect the advancement of abortion on demand.Politics aside, this is simple math. The Medical Board is being influenced by folks who are partisan. This is not about the health and safety of minors, it is about the agenda of the abortion lobby. Just to drive the point home, one of the Medical Board members is Robert Fernandez. His firm (Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal) serves as Outside Counsel to Planned Parenthood of Illinois—who cooperate directly with PERSONAL PAC.What does this all boil down to? The Medical Board wants a “grace period” for physicians in Illinois, which simply speaking would make the Parental Notice Act ineffective, because those who would otherwise be prosecuted under the law will be held above the law. Thanks once again to the great state of Illinois, we may once more have a government of the system, by the system and for the system…ignoring the conviction of over 80% of Illinoisans.
